Our Mission

Our mission is to embrace the public by enriching the culture of our community through the arts; to encourage artists by providing a opportunity to create and exhibit; and to nurture the artistic bent of youths and adults alike through mentorship, instruction and workshops.

We provide classes for toddlers to adults, and all members of the general public are welcome -- we even offer scholarships for students up to the age of 18 for families in need. For details on our scholarship program, please see the Scholarship Application Form.

I have taught a little of everything at the middle school level, including art. I frequently integrate the arts in my science, social studies, and technology classes. At the Pekin Academy of Fine Arts, I host several art classes for teens including the monthly Teen Art Club as well as several short-term digital design courses for adults.

Outside of teaching, I have worked in the field of marketing for more than a decade, including work with graphic design, web design, and film. I ampassionate about exploring different media, with favorites including paint, charcoal, digital media, and the culinary arts. Working with the Pekin Academy of Fine Arts is a great way to continue experimenting alongside artistic youth.

I am excited to finish my master's degree in Art Education, which will conclude with a study abroad to Italy this summer.

I started scrapbooking over 15 years ago. I originally started to make a pretty book with my wedding pictures. I have since taken my hobby and used it to become the family storyteller. Photos and memories have become very important to me.

In addition to making scrapbooks, I also have made cards, mini albums, home decor items, calendars, among many others. Currently I make yearly books using pocket page protectors using Project Life kits in addition to making a yearly scrapbook to document my family.
